I study the ecology of plant roots and the soil they grow in, program computers to do things that are useful to biologists, cook new foods, and complain a lot on Twitter.

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Jonathan Lynch at Penn State University, where I am developing models of how root architecture interacts with deep and hard soils. If you're looking for help with a project that involves extracting new knowledge from messy datasets, have a look at my CV and get in touch. Bonus points if it also involves biological systems, simulations of them, or any of the topics from my dissertation.
